Our Vision The Bee Family Centennial Farm is built on the assumption that the preservation of our American history is a fundamental resource for the enlightenment of our future. It makes traditional life on a farm, dating back to 1894, accessible to all ages that might not otherwise have like exposure or knowledge. It provides an educational comparison of agricultural means, past and present. The intention is to share the farming history of Northern Colorado with others in a traditional, engaging and authentic way. Authenticity is the core uniqueness of our farming heritage. The integrity of our family of Western American farmers emphasizes the legacy of our story rich with human interest. Our Mission The Mission of the Bee Family Centennial Farm is to preserve the architecture and artifacts of the Bee Farm while educating the public on farming life and methods past and present. The farming history of Northern Colorado will be shared with others in a traditional, engaging and authentic way. Our Values The Bee Family for four generations has traditionally held to Biblical Christian values. The ethics of honesty, hard work, traditional family values and integrity have held the family farm together for the last 120 years. It is these values that we will continue at the Bee Family Centennial Farm. To continue this family friendly atmosphere at the farm we will maintain a smoke and drug free environment. Exhibits and Tours The Bee Family Centennial Farm is a unique educational environment. Here audiences discover a "minds-on" museum experience. Compelling, hands-on exhibits capture the significance of agricultural history and illustrate fundamental farming know-how. Educational programming and tours demystify the world of agriculture. Displays of photographs and artifacts from the Bee Family collection document the human drama of life in rural Northern Colorado. The Bee Farm Museum invites visitors to explore, engage and have fun while learning the history and future of Larimer County agriculture in an authentic historic setting. Visitors will leave the Bee Farm enriched. Site and Structures Farming is a creative enterpirse. The ability of the Bee Family Centennial Farm to illustrate growth and change over time is among the Bee Farm's most exciting interpretive strengths. The Bee Farm has been in continuous use for 115 years. The sweeping array of farm structures and the earth beneath them are the site's most significant artifacts. Buildings ranging from a 1890s farm house to a machine shed only two decades old have been moved, altered, or adapted to new technologies and the ever-changing demands of the farm economy. Here is a dose of American ingenuity in a 10-acre capsule. |
