We are still here, even though it has been awhile since we have said anything. It has been a good summer with children's groups. We are getting ready for our Pioneer Living Day on Sept 22. The theme for the day is Pioneer Food. What food was available? How was it stored? How was it fixed?

Our first baby calf was born Feb 19. We are calling her Elsa, from "Frozen" because she has survived -10 and -5 degree weather the last two nights. Thankfully she was born before the snow and real cold weather arrived. She is our first baby animal that we will have for our 'Spring on the Farm' event on May 5. Two more calves, lambs, a pig, baby chickens and turkeys will be coming.
Opening Day is quickly approaching. Spring on the Farm is our new event on May 6. We have been busy cleaning and getting ready. The baby animals are doing well. We have 4 calves, 2 lambs, a pig, and 4 baby chickens.
We had a setting hen this spring that has hatched 5 little chicks, but we were not sure if they were going to hatch so we bought 4 chicks and put them under her. So she has 5 of her own and 4 adopted ones.
We are working on a topographic irrigation exhibit that will show how water is distributed from the mountains to the field of crops. We will also be rearranging some displays to give the green shed a new look.
We are busy getting ready for Pioneer Living Day next Saturday September 26. We have a good list of presenters. It should be a fun day.
It was a sad day when we had to sell our Jersey cow because she got injured. We are looking for another Jersey calf to replace her. June has been very busy with several groups and hosting two dinners. July has been a little slower, but we do have two children's groups this coming week. It has been an eventful spring caring for our baby animals. We have 3 baby calves, but had to quite milking our cow due to some nutritional problems. We purchased two lambs and a pig that are doing well, and will get the turkeys and chicks this next week. The snow/rain is very welcome, but does make things a little hard for the animals. Several groups are scheduled and we have a volunteer group coming April 25 to paint the trolley wagon. The news letter will be out this week, if you would like to receive a copy let us know.
